The Duesenberg Boat

This Boat design is based off the 'Duesenberg car' which was designed in the height of the art deco period. I worked alongside four others to design and model this boat. Our collaborative approach allowed us to utilise our diverse skill sets to push the design. We focused not only on the exterior but also on the interior.

The Duesenberg boat is intended solely for use by guests of the luxurious Huka Lodge resort, located in the central North Island New Zealand. It can carry up to eight people as well as a captain and a hostess. It is used for functions such as stag do's, wedding photos and luxury cruising.

The exterior of the boat reflects the bold, powerful linear line work of the Duesenberg car. The materials and finishes reflect a high quality aesthetic and define the epitome of luxury.

The interior was designed to utilise the maximum space for the staff and the guests enjoyment. The open floor plan has been designed to ensure the guests are immersed in the beautiful lake Taupo scenery and don't feel confined aboard.
